Where are all the Leaders?
Question that needs Answered
That is a question that absolutely needs answered. Before we can answer that question we need to define what a leader is or maybe what a leader is not. We will get to that but no doubt you have or will realize that not everyone that calls themselves a leader is actually a leader. There are a lot of self-appointed leaders, but that does not mean they are actually a true leader.
See Yourself as a Leader
Now understand that you have to see yourself as a leader, and act like a leader before you ever actually become a leader. If you cannot see yourself as a leader then it is extremely doubtful that you will truly become one. You may be thinking I don’t want to be a leader if it requires you to get up in front of people. Many people have a challenge when it comes to being in front of a large group of people, and that’s okay. I am still on track so keep reading; I have the memory of when in the fifth grade of having to read a book report in the front of the class and my voice cracked. That was the day my voice starting changing. Well, be that as it may, it was very embarrassing and for the longest time it was difficult to speak in front of a group. My point is being a leader does not require one necessarily to speak in front of a large group. However, it does require you to do certain things.
Leaders Inspire
So back on the topic here, a leader is one that inspires you, a leader is someone that sets the pace of the pack and leads by example. The right kind of leader is one that does everything with integrity, he or she does not promise the moon and stars but cannot deliver or reach the ceiling themselves. When I think of a true leader I think of Jesus. He lead by example, you don’t find him at the back, no way. Where is he? At the front leading the charge and that is exactly where the person you are going to follow should be. A leader is not necessarily the loudest person, leaders, true leaders can get things done without saying a word. Jesus never hid when there was a problem, he was never too busy for people no matter who they were.
Leaders are Accessible
They don’t convince you to join XYZ company, and then you look around and cannot find them. A leader is someone that is accessible, someone that you can call or email and get a timely response. That is not to say that every time you call, they can pick up the phone, but it does mean they get back to you within a reasonable amount of time. A leader is stable and dependable; they are not constantly bouncing around from here to there. A leader realizes that it takes work, persistence and consistency to be successful in any business and that includes network marketing. If someone tells you it is easy, and you can make a fortune without having to work, run from them as fast as you can.
A True Leader will tell the Truth
A leader is going to lay it on the line for you, but here is the difference, a leader is going to be there until you develop into a leader. They will be there to nurture you along but the day will come when you are kicked out of the nest, and it will be required that you start to soar on your own. That’s okay that is what you want to do and will be able to do if you find and follow a true leader. Don’t look for empty promises or someone that will just tell you what you want to hear. Look for someone that follows through and does what they say.
Remember a leader leads by example, they inspire, they don’t just say all the right things they also do all the right things.
